help :'( please

I believe the answer is a.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the reason is as follows...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#of toys donated by collin = 1/5 * (number of toys donated by Emory) + 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B is: # of tickets sandra = 1/5 ( t + 9) = not right.... C is: # of returns = t / (1/5) +9 = 5t + 9 = again, not right... D is: # of shoes Kyle owns = 1/5 * (the number of Tayna's shoes) -9 .... again, not right...

so, A is the only situation that seems to accurately reflect the situation. ... the one thing that could easily throw someone off on this equation is the way the equation is presented as it looks like both sides of the equation express something different; but the fact of the matter is that the left side is the exact same as the right side! Just written differently. So, you only need to find the situation described by one side of the equation. : )
