how to find derivatives of X the power of x the power of x

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

You are trying to find \[\frac{d}{dx}(x^x)\]? Try the chain rule.

hartnn (hartnn):

i think the question is \(\huge y= x^{x^x}\)

hartnn (hartnn):

for that ^ you'll first need \(\frac{d}{dx}(x^x)\) use logarithmic differentiation for that

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

You can do chain rule all the way, too. Get a sharp pencil, whatever you do :-)

hartnn (hartnn):

chain rule ? O.o
