How did Copernicus's work challenge the accepted view of the universe? He believed that Ptolemy's work was completely wrong. He knew that the planets revolved, but he did not believe they revolved around the earth. He wanted to prove that God created the universe and science was not involved. He thought that the universe had changed since Ptolemy's theory.

i got this one. i need help with a different question. How did the Renaissance's emphasis on humanism help spark scientific thinking? The humanist emphasis on mathematics led scientists to develop accurate measurement tools. The Church and God were no longer seen as the reason why everything happened the way it did. Scientists now wanted to prove that Renaissance era religious beliefs were true. Religion became unimportant to most people during the Renaissance.
