@jim_thompson5910 Can you help me with this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what a pythagorean triple is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not exactly. It has to be a whole number that ='s up to 100 or something like that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got blinded sided with this question lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pythagorean triples are a set of 3 numbers, A, B, and C. A and B are both less than C. A, B, and C will form a pythagorean triple if A^2+B^2=C^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So for example if you click the picture and look at A. 5,12,13. 5^2= 25 12^2=144 13^2=169 so 5 and 5 and 12 are less so its a pythagorean triple?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5,12,13 is a pythagorean triple because 5^2=25 12^2=144 13^2=169 25+144=169

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see what you mean they gotta be the same or less than C put together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they have to be the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So if there less than C or more than C its not a triple? Has to be the same only?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, it can only be a triple when theyre the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Got it! Thanks for the help really appreciate it
