Which explains how Roosevelt modeled his New Deal programs after Progressive reforms? He designed programs that kept government interference in the economy at a minimum and allowed consumers to grow businesses. He designed programs that strictly regulated big businesses and kept industries from monopolistic influences. He designed programs that considered the interests of wealthy citizens over the interests of impoverished citizens living in the United States. He designed programs that sought to protect against bank failure and economic insecurity and preserve freedom of choice and inventiveness in business.
I want to say the answer is D. but I'm not entirely sure..
Thank you. lol all i have is three more questions. than im done
The excerpt below is from 1892: “The national power to create money is appropriated to enrich bondholders; a vast public debt, payable in legal tender currency, has been funded into gold…thereby adding millions to the burdens of the people.” Source: http://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/historyonline/us25.cfm Which of the following describes the source of the excerpt above? Populist Party platform Interstate Commerce Act Republican Party platform Sherman Silver Purchase Act
Alright, I try my best to answer them. This one is just a rattler :S
The text below is from Georgia's Black Codes in the late 1800s: "All persons wandering or strolling about in idleness, who are able to work, and who have no property to support them . . . shall be deemed and considered vagrants. It shall be lawful for any person to arrest said vagrants, and have them bound over for trial. Upon conviction they shall be fined or imprisoned, or sentenced to work on the public works or roads for no longer than a year." Source: http://home.gwu.edu/~jjhawkin/BlackCodes/pdfGeorgia.pdf How did these laws limit the 13th Amendment? Most former slaves had no skills other than working on the plantations and these laws made it possible for African Americans to keep working on the farms. Most former slaves were unruly and violent toward their former masters and these laws prevented white citizens from being harmed. Most former slaves wanted to continue to work for their masters and these laws prevented them from continuing to work in areas in which they were most skilled. Most former slaves had no employment and these laws made it possible to keep African Americans in a cycle of slavery by imprisoning them for being jobless. This one i reallllyyy dont understand lol
We no its not A. because after the 13th Amendment, it was a general concept for plantation owners to employ former slaves as share holders, thus giving them somewhere to live and a job. This law had nothing to do with this concept. Its not B. for obvious reasons :P Its not C. because, as I stated for A., former slaves were never prohibited from working on plantations as long as they were hired as shareholders. So its D. [Most former slaves had no employment and these laws made it possible to keep African Americans in a cycle of slavery by imprisoning them for being jobless.] :)
the answer to the first one is without a doubt D...There were two new deals though. Which one is it talking about. As it doesnt say the second new deal i suspect it is the first. so it is D as roosevelt's plan was to protect the bank in the first
