What is the difference between "then" and "than"

OpenStudy (nikolas):

"Then" refers to time. "Than" is used in comparisons. E.g. "I ate breakfast, then went to school." "I prefer pancakes, rather than waffles." "My English class was in the afternoon. By then, I was very tired." "I usually did well in all my classes, other than science."
