Geometry help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Seems some information is missing here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's all the info I was given

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have the set up in my notes, but i'm not sure how to plug the numbers into the formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well since it's a pythagorean triplet, the hypotenuse is 50, the square root symbol is equal to 40. 50^2=30^2+40^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how'd you get 50?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the 40?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's why there's not enough information... I'm recognizing that it's what's called a 3-4-5 triangle multiplied by a factor of ten.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30 and 60 are degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, then I wouldn't know that from how you labeled that, lol ! =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh! haha sorry!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its something like the 90 degrees matches up with m, 30 with 2m and 60 matches of mith m square root of 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1360551178486:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

... then m^2 = (2m)^2 + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And that doesn't work... lol, sorry!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If 30 degree was opposite to let's say m/2 then we could do this.
