In problem set 1, 1A-6 how can you express in the form Asin(x+c)? What trig properties are involved?
The trig properties involved are the sin of a sum and a difference. c is a constant. Does that get you going?
Thank you, but it still isn't clear for me... :( Problem says: Express "sinx-cosx" in the form Asin(x+c) So, what how can I find an appropriate A and c?
Since there's a minus sign, it must have come from the basic sin(x-c) which is equal to sin x cos c - sin c cos x. Since you have a sin c and cos c to calculate, c must be an angle where sin c = cos c. Calculate and factor out as A.
if you still need help, here's a link to the same question asked a while ago: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/50d127b9e4b0091849d7ba4f
Thank you, I didn't notice the previous question. :)
