will u help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5y2 -5y+3y -3 5y(y-1)+3(y-1) can you do it further???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im a lil confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since 5 and 3 are prime, your solution will look like: (5y )(y ) and in the blank area you will be placing one of the 4 following pairs of factors: +3 -1 -3 +1 +1 -3 -1 +3 The reason you have only these 4 choices is that the numeric is -3 and these are the 4 ways to factor -3. At this point, you have to try all 4, but you can eliminate the last 2 because that will give a rather large positive or negative "y" term. So, you really only have to try the first 2.

so it would b the first one

Yes, that is correct! Good job!
