OpenStudy (firejay5):

I need help on this problem If p(x) = 3x^2 - 2x + 5 and r(x) = x^3 + x + 1, find each value. 32. p(a^2)

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@AravindG

OpenStudy (aravindg):

replace x with a^2 to get p(a^2)

OpenStudy (firejay5):

is this the right answer? @AravindG

OpenStudy (aravindg):

hw u got that?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

is it right

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

p(x) = 3x^2 - 2x + 5 p(a^2) = 3(a^2)^2 - 2(a^2) + 5 ... replace each x with a^2 I'll let you simplify

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Would it be 3A^4 - 2a^2 + 5

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

very good

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

assuming you meant 3a^4 instead of 3A^4
