Which two triangles are congruent by SSS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the SSS is the SIDE-SIDE-SIDE. so then triangles IJL and KJL are congruent by SSS. -since side JI is congruent to side JK. -also since side IL IS congruent to side MK - side JL is also congruent to side JM.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you agree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your welcome :)

Directrix (directrix):

I chose the second option. Tri IMJ ≅ Tri KLJ

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh really? @Directrix ? why?

Directrix (directrix):

IM = KL, MJ = LJ, and IJ = KJ

Directrix (directrix):

Those are corresponding congruent sides of congruent triangles Tri IMJ ≅ Tri KLJ.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that makes sense :)

Directrix (directrix):

In triangles IJL and KJL, the corresponding sides that would have to be congruent are IJ=KJ, IL = KL, and JL = JL. It is that JL=JL that I think doesn't work out to make these two triangles congruent. But, let's check. I could be wrong.

@Megan_xoxo Could all of us re-visit this question. I got a different answer. I am not saying I am correct but could we take a second look? http://openstudy.com/users/megan_xoxo#/updates/511db57ae4b06821731bbece
