[Pre cal]: (3x^2+5x-2)/(x+3) My professor wants us to express what we get in the form of P(x) = D(x) · Q(x) + R(x). I have no problem getting the answer but this form has me stumped we never talked about this or went over it. Its using web assign so Im sort of in a pickle until I can figure how what this form is. I get 3x-1 remainder -5 by the way.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

check your division again... i get 3x-4 remainder 10

I added the 3 in the first part, my bad. But I still dont know how to express this in the form I need to.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

anyway D(x) is divisor or the (x+3) in this case Q(x) is quotient or (3x-4) in this case R(x) is remainder or 10 in this case --> 3x^2 +5x-2 = (x+3)(3x-4) +10

Awesome thanks, makes complete sense now.
