According to Newton’s First Law of Motion, if you roll a ball in a straight line in an open field, what will happen to the ball? A. The ball will continue on forever. B. The ball will slow down. C. The ball will not change its velocity. D. The ball will speed up. @boredAF
C. The ball will not change its velocity. I thnk but dbl check.
C is wrong, it while change speed / direction which are both covered by V, the answer you want is B :)
velocity is a speed and direction.
Well timo is partly correct. "If an object experiences no net force, then its velocity is constant: the object is either at rest (if its velocity is zero), or it moves in a straight line with constant speed (if its velocity is nonzero)." So technically it's A or C.
HEy but a it says it can continue on forever but it can change speed. (accelarate or decelarate) BUt my choice ensures it doesn't speed up or speed down.
A field has bumbs gravity, and friction though.
Hmm. Yes that'a a variable. But the question doesn't say that we have to take account of that. It just says applying the first law.
"field"..
its an open field :P
it not a vector field, or force field.
^ Anyway isn't anyone going to point out... Wrong section? LOL
Oppie, dont be "that guy" :P
Meh. It's a slow day :3
lol it never slow for me :)
Because you help in the Math section... History section is so generic. Nothing of interesting value.
i like history. :D BUt it been a while.
Lol, that's why it's called history.
The cake is a lie. All the History you shall need.
this topic is history :(
Can you believe people actually neuter there pets?
That is why bears are nobodies pet :P
Some people actually own bears :3
in russia :D
No. In Russia. Bears own people :P
:O
This is a very very very awkward chat.
Newton's First Law tells us that if an object is moving, and there is no net force acting against it, then its velocity will remain constant. In other words, its speed will not change.
Opcode's got a point -- if you have anymore questions about Physics, feel free to post in the Physics section. You'll probably get an answer much faster and in more detail, over there.
LOL no you wont
You won't? The physics section has just about as many members as this biology section: 17,000. That's why I assumed so. But you visit that section more than I do.
I mostly on math.
I know.
ok guys, seriously? first of all, i know im a year late. but i had this test a few days ago. ITS B!!! cmon! it doesnt take science to figure that one out. the ball will slow down. you really don know that? i think timo touched on B, but he wasnt sure. so for anyone who happens to look at this in later years, just know that the ball slows down. obviously, the ball wouldnt just continue forever and evr and ever until t hit something. think!
@streamkaboom that's what I thought.
@streamkaboom i thought that was the answer. i already had that one marked!
big ol jet airliner
Its b i took the test and it said the ball will slow down its b
