How many solutions does the system have? -3x + 6y = 10 -3x + 6y = -4 A. None B. One C. Infintely many D. Two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well x and y have to be the same in both equations. Is there any possibility that those two equations will equal different numbers when they are the same?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Subtract the equations. If you get a false statement, then there are no solutions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, how can you have 2 equations that are the same give two different results? -3x+6y=-3x+6y so they have to have the same result or it's impossible.
