How do you graph a linear inequality? Please help! I am begging you!

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

First, graph the equality. Do you have a particular inequality you're working on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is one second... y> -3x+4

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

Can you graph the equality?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so. It's just the shading I'm having a hard time with. I don't get that part

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

OK. |dw:1361324471102:dw| Now put in a zero for x and y in the inequality. We're testing the point (0,0), the origin, to see if it's going to be shaded or not. If you get a true statement after replacing the variables with zeros, shade the side including the origin. If the resulting statement is false, shade the side of the line that doesn'y include the origin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh gotcha. thanks!

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

Sure.
