In my personal opinion I believe that: by "securing the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity", We are not only to seek the benifits of liberty for ourselves but to ensure that we make sure that we do not settle for selfish gain but make sure that these benefits are set up in a manner that will guarantee the same for our children and theirs and so on. **************************************… The Preamble of the United States Constitution states: "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquillity, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." In this statement of the purpose of the United Stated Constitution, and thus of our Government, we have an explanation of 1) who established the Government: "We the People" 2) for what purpose we established that government: "to form a more perfect union.... and secure the Blessings of Liberty" and 3) the beneficiaries of our action: "ourselves and our Posterity."
