OpenStudy (hopehope118):

Is it possible to factor: x squared + 65x - 1294 = 0 and if it is factorable, what numbers do you use to factor it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x^{2} + 65-1294=0\] did you mean to put an x after the 65?

OpenStudy (hopehope118):

oh, yeah.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok \[x^{2} + 65x-1294 = 0\] you could use the quadratic formula to find the roots (x1,x2) and then do (x-x1)(x-x2). not sure how else you would do it. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=factor%28x+%5E2%2B+65x+-+1294+%29
