@openstudy This section (and pretty much every section besides math), is absolute trash. Just gives me false hope of possibly getting help on English, but alas, help will never be given. Just change openstudy to a math help website.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you need help in English? Maybe you are not asking when the right people are on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I could help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nobody helpful is ever in this section. I can never seem to get an help on any questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well whats your question? I do very well in English. I actually take my english classes at a college and im only a sophmore.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would disagree I think math has to much drama, and I try to help with what I can, but ya know I can't know everything...but anyway Whats your question...I will try to help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you read "The Ramayana" or "My Father Writes to My Mother"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. sorry. See if you had an essay, I could revise it or if you needed grammar help or vocab. I dont have a library in my head.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am very helpful in English and Writing... Instead of writing up a sad sob story just send me a message... lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok how about this Decide how the bold-faced pronoun is used in the sentence. "Whom" did you ask to read these announcements? (1 point) subject direct object object of a preposition (my answer)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Whom" being the bold word

OpenStudy (anonymous):

object of a preposition. why would you ask if you knew the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was not sure if it was correct or not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anymore, darlin?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Decide how the pronoun is used in the sentence: Just today Terry bought a picture for her. direct object indirect object (my answer) object of a preposition correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is that an object of prep. ther is no preposition it's in!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is clearly a direct object

OpenStudy (anonymous):

itd be direct object right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"to" is a preposition

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yah but whom is not supposed to be in the prep. phrase there...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kirk just seems so mad, im gonna go with whatever unless im allowed to tell him hes wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not mad??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

obviously I would like to know if i'm right or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first one is direct object second one is object of prep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IM SORRY...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just dont want to piss people off..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my answers are correct and if you are not sure I can explain why. just ask

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, can you please explain the first one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why wouldnt the second one be indirect object?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just pipe down and i will teach guys

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok in the fist sentence we must separate the parts... "Whom" did you ask to read these announcements? Subject:You Verb: did ask a direct object is the noun that receives the action... you tell me what is receiving the action here???...obviously WHOM now lastly we have a prep. phrase that we set off: to read these announcements any questions on that one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm I guess it makes sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually i made a mistake. the phrase "to read these announcements" is NOT even prepostion...it's an infinitive phrase... so yah other than that it's all correct let me know when you are ready for me to explain the next one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I'm ready

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok here we go Just today Terry bought a picture for her. Subject: Terry Verb: bought Direct Object: picture preposition phrase here is "for her" and those other word, Just today are adverbs... Here is the confusion you are having. You think it is Indirect object but it is not. Sometimes sentences like these are arranged differently like this: Just today Terry bought her a picture. It's pretty much the same thing except no prep phrase. WATCH CAREFULLY WHEN NOTICING SENTENCE PATTERNS AND PARTS. Indirect Objects and Direct Objects are NEVER found in Prepositional Phrases. If you have any questions shoot.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...I feel even blonder. I know to come to you XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, thanks, and you are 100% sure these are right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes... btw English is my favorite ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mehhhh band geek all the way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you wouldn't mind, I have another one Identify the case of the pronoun in the following sentence. I ate the entire pizza. nominative (my answer) objective possessive correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, It is supposed to be one question per post. lol and I believe you owe me 2 medals... lol. I am trying to build up my medal count so others can recognize me as a helpful person ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yes... you are correct that time :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, thanks for the help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no prob fan me and message me questions when you need help. im not on all the time but when i am i try my best to help

OpenStudy (anonymous):
