How do I solve a linear inequality in order to graph it that doesn't have the +b part of the formula. The one I'm trying to solve is this: y≤1/4x
well graph the line y = x/4 and the then choose a point say (1, 1) and substitute x = 1 and y = 1 into the y = x/4 and which will help to devide whcih side on the line the solution set is... so is 1 <= 1/4 true of false if true ( 1, 1) is on the side of the line that should be shaded. if false... shade the opposite side of the line...?
How would I get x/4 though?
pick 3 x values say x | y --- | ---- 0 | 0 4 | 1 8 | 2 plot the points.... as you can see the line passes through the origin.. thats why there is now b value
Okay thank you!
