I´m with a number of doubts in using some english expressions and wanna know whether you may help me. For example: What´s the correct form: the game is over TO me or the game is over FOR me? What´s the correct form: I wanna know IF you can... or I wanna know WHETHER you can....? I rely on you, friends.
The game is over FOR me. This means that you are no longer playing the game. If you are trying to say that the game is no longer being played by anyone, you would just say "the game is over" 2. Both can be correct. Usually you use whether when you are also using or, when there is more than one option. I want to know if you like chocolate. I want to know whether you like chocolate or vanilla. I want to know if you like chocolate or vanilla. I want to know whether or not you like chocolate. All are correct.
