someone pleaseeeeeeeeee help me! 1. Displacement vectors of 5 km north, 3 km east, 2 km south, and 3 km west combine to a total displacement of 3 km north. 13 km west. 0 km. 2 km south.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o km?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Why would you say 0 km?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could it be 13???

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Please don't guess, I want to help you learn how to do this question by yourself. So explain why you give an answer...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't guess I thought it was 13 because I added them all up and got 13.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Oh, thanks for the explanation, that helps me understand your reasoning...

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Have you tried drawing a diagram of the "displacements"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how to draw a diagram I didn't know we were suppose to. I don't even know were I would put them on a graph and I don't even know what km means?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Those are all very good questions that you need to figure out to answer this question. Let me start by saying that "km" means "kilometer" which is a measurement of distance, remember?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

On a map north points up the page, south is down the page and west towards the left,, east towards the right.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

@hannahannahannahannah Are you still there?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

If you want to learn you have to work along with me
