tanx+cotx?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the answer fot that? or thats just a final answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Depends. What is the objective here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cotx=1/tanx tanx+1/tanx tanx/tanx =1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got a question that is sinx/cosx+cosx/sinx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dude... tanx+1/tanx does not equal tanx/tanx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then yes, tanx+cotx is the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 1/tanx+cotx?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you deriving that from tanx+cotx? O_o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no! is another question using that same number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so first you change the equation in terms of Sinx and cosx so because tanx= sinx/cosx and cotx= cosx/sinx you're left with (sinx/cosx)+(cosx/sinx) now add them as you would any other fraction. ( Make sure to make them have common denominators before adding)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought you told him this already, Adrian.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did i? i have no idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you want me to explain to you or just give you the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He has the answer already. I'm not sure what he wants anymore...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats not simplified, the answer is SecxCscx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. For 1/tanx+cotx, it would be 2cotx because cotx+cotx=2cotx
