Given the function T(z) = z - 8, find T(-2). i got negative 10 am i right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Yes. Why do you doubt?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just wanted to make suree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's double-check: \[t(-2) = -2 - 8\] \[t(-2) = -10\] So yes, you got it right.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

"wanted to make sure" I see. Now, answer my question. Why do you doubt? Can you reproduce the procedure? Did you make any errors on purpose? Does it work like other such problems on which you have been successful? It's okay to "make sure" within your own mind. We can't be there on an exam. Good work on this one. Go to the next one with a little more confidence.

because i was having trouble with this lesson

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

One more try. You're just not answering my question. I'm not talking about what normally might cause faear and doubt. I'm talking about THIS problem. You did the problem correctly. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it. You probably did it twice to make sure - maybe three times(?). Any opinion from anyone else only confirmed what you already knew. There is no reason for doubt! Seriously, don't make excuses for doubt. Learn it well. Do it right. Move on with confidence! Okay, that's enough pep-talk.

ok thanks
