HELP! Read through the following paragraph and indicate which noun the direct object pronoun represents. The first one is done below. Mi deporte favorito es el tenis. Lo practico todos los fines de semana en la cancha cerca de mi casa. Lo practico con una raqueta y una bola de tenis. A veces mi familia y yo lo practicamos juntos. Pero a veces, lo practico con unos amigos. Tengo una raqueta muy buena. La pongo en mi cuarto cuando no la estoy usando. Y las bolas, hay que ponerlas en mi cuarto también porque si no, la próxima vez que quiero jugar al tenis, no las puedo encontrar. Example: L

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's look at the first two sentences: "Mi deporte favorito es el tenis." "Lo practico todos los fines de semana, en la cancha cerca de mi casa." (Cancha means "court.") Do you know what the FIRST sentence is saying?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Means "My favorite sport is tennis" right ? But I'm confused on what there asking for ? Like the noun is Tennis but I don't know maybe I'm thinking to hard into but it seems like all my answers are el tenis ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ALMOST all of your answers are "tenis." Look at the second sentence, for example: "Lo practico todos los fines de semana." The question is asking us what the word LO is talking about. LO means IT. And the word IT is referring to TENNIS.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take a look at this sentence though: "Tengo una raqueta muy buena." And then take a look at the sentence right AFTER that one: " La pongo en mi cuarto cuando no la estoy usando." The word LA is the direct object pronoun here. But do you know what the word LA is referring to, in this case?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then that will then mean that the "la" is referring to the racket or "raqueta" correct ? By the way thanks for giving me examples and etc. Helps out 10x better.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. That's right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And then there is one more sentence, with a different direct object pronoun, toward the end of the paragraph: "Y las bolas, hay que ponerlas en mi cuarto también porque si no, la próxima vez que quiero jugar al tenis, no las puedo encontrar." You know what the LAS stands for?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Las is feminine and is also plural. The sentence is talking about the balls early on so is it replacing "bolas" with las ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that's right. Las bolas.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Buen trabajo.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

. Gracias ! Thanks for your help it was very much appreciated .
