OpenStudy (ciarabelen):

What is the absolute value of 4(-6)+18/4! ?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Is that \[|4(-6)+\frac{18}{4!}|\] or\[|\frac{4(-6)+18}{4!}|\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4*(-6) = -24 18/4 = 4.5 -24+4.5 = -19.5 then take the absolute value which would be 19.5

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

\[4!=4*3*2*1\]

OpenStudy (ciarabelen):

second one

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Then you need to have parentheses around your numerator, or use the equation editor to properly format it. The first one is the meaning of what you wrote...

OpenStudy (ciarabelen):

ok can you help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got -.25 when i put it in the calculator im not 100 % sure its right but you just have to take the absolute value which would be .25 or 1/4

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

\[|\frac{4(-6))+18}{4!}| = |\frac{-24+18}{4*3*2*1}| = |\frac{-6}{4*3*2*1}| = \]

OpenStudy (ciarabelen):
