In your own words, explain how to graph the point (3, -5). Now, generalize this explanation and explain how to graph any point (x, y). Help pleaseee

In 2-dimensional space, the cartesian grid has an x-axis and y-axis. The first number in the coordinates (3,-5) represents the value on the x-axis and the second is the value on the y-axis. Thus, we choose x = 3 on the axis, and then move downwards in y direction till we hit y = -5 and this will be where our point (3,-5) exists. Similarly, any point (x,y) can be graphed in a similar in 2-dimsional space. Choose the appropriate x value on the axis by going in the left or right direction along the x-axis. Then go upwards or downwards to get to the appropriate y value and that will be the position of your coordinate (x,y).
