OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Okay, do you know how to add fractions?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

You can add fractions by adding the numerators once you have a common denominator (which you already have in both of these problems). If we had two fractions to add: \[\frac{x+2}{6} + \frac{x}{6} = \frac{(x+2)+x}{6} = \frac{2x+2}{6} = \frac{2(x+1)}{6}=\frac{x+1}{3}\]

OpenStudy (tainted):

Can you show the work for each problem?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

No, I won't, but you can. \[\frac{4x}{9}+\frac{x-10}{9} = \]What will the new numerator be?
