the diameter of a tire is 2.5ft. use the mearsurement to answer part a and b.
let ,e give you part a
fin the cirumference of the tire round your answer to the nearest whole number.thats part a.
2.56
now part b.about how many times will the tire have to rotate to travel 1 mile>:)(1 mi=5,280ft)
mi= 50286
@InYourHead what u about to say please
idk
@ellis101 Your answer for part A was wrong. The formula for finding circumference of a circle is \[2\pi r\] Now, if you wouldn't like to explain to our friend emma_beiber how to get the correct answer, be my guest. If not, I request that you leave me to help, as I was asked.
NO THANK YOU THE LINK DOESN'T WORK EVEN IF ITRIRF TO CLICK ON IT
I WANT TO CLICK ON TI SORRY>:)
NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE BUT
no my answer is right
NO ITS WRONG
sorry>:)
@ellis101 TWO times PI times the RADIUS DOES NOT equal 2.56. WHAT is so COMPLICATED about that?!
yes it does
2ellis101 thanky ou for trying to help but your answers areWRONG I HAVE SOME HELP
ok @inyourhead you cna stay but i will clsoe the question so one else comes in k so we can work in peace wihtout pole jsut throwing out answrd>:) sounds good?
okk i closed it
@emma_beiber Now, like I said before, the formula for CIRCUMFERENCE is.... \[2\pi r\] You'll need a calculator for this one. Here's a BIG FACT: The RADIUS equals HALF the DIAMETER. Since the problem tells us that the DIAMETER is 2.5, the RADIUS is 1.25. You follow me so far? ~~~~~~~~~ So, we have to do this.... 2 times 3.14 times 1.25 That's our CIRCUMFERENCE.
okk i ahve a calcutalor here
i got 7.88
7.85 sorry
Yes, so the circumference is 7.85 ft. Good work.
k
this simuch beter since the question is closed for some reason everytime u come CRAZY pppl eneter in my SPACE SO WERID
Now, let me talk a little about what "circumference" is, just in case. "Circumference" is the measure AROUND an entire circle. ~~~~~~~~~~ Part B asks us..... "How many times will the tire have to rotate, to travel 5,280 feet in all?" What we have to do is simple, we DIVIDE.... 5,280 by 7.85. Can you do that?
okk sure
(You can round that answer up, since Part A asked us to round 7.85 up to 8.)
oh ok
Hold on here will you? Something's strange.
umm yewss whatsup
ok and plsu i got 672.6
with some other number sbehind it
Alright. Sorry, can you do me a favor? Since Part A asked us to round our answer up to 8, can you do 5280 divided by 8 instead?
oh yes
When we do that, we get 660. Is that one of your answers there?
umm n this is a exaplining probkle so whih cmenas there are no answers i have to work it out alonr herea><:)
Ohhh okay. So let me cover what we've been through so far: We found the answer to part A -- 7.85. That's the CIRCUMFERENCE. And the directions said we need to "round it to the nearest whole number." So, we need to round 7.85 to 8. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ok yes
im there im with u i mean
So when we get to Part B, it asks us how many times the tire needs to turn, in order to cover 5,280 feet, in all. SO.....we need to divide 5,280 by 8. We get 660. That means that if the tire turns ONE TIME, it'll cover 8 feet. If the tire turns 660 TIMES, it'll cover 5,280 feet. Does that make sense?
yesss
Great. So once again, Part A --- 8 feet Part B --- 660 times.
Just to make sure we're on the same page here.
yess lol<>:) and are good in math aren't u
I'm not good at ALL kinds of math, but I was okay with this geometry stuff.
oh okk
lol i thinkt hat is all for today
thak you for all the help and sorry abour alm those cray people so umm i had close the questiona nd it was easy to work>:)
oh yeah and u got the metal also<>:)
It's okay, don't be sorry for them. They're not your fault. You're welcome too. Thank you.
okkk byezzz ttyl
