Is x-3 a factor of the polynomial x^3 - 5x^2 + 7x - 3? If so, what is the quotient?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the Factor Theorem which states that if (x - a) is a factor of p(x), then p(a)=0 Substitute x by 3 in the given polynomial and if the result is a zero then x-3 is a factor. Then use Long division or Synthetic Division to find the quotient.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide x^3 - 5x^2 + 7x - 3 by x-3 if the remainder is zero then x-3 is the factor of x^3 - 5x^2 + 7x - 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just divide x^3 - 5x^2 + 7x - 3 by x-3 to get the quotient
