Please help me with this concept; I have a Unit Test coming up and I need to nail this. "Find any points of discontinuity for the rational function."
y= (equation attached)
Originally, I was going to try to cancel out any repeat values so that I could simplify this, but they're all the same! I realize that I need to find two x values, but I'm not sure where to start.
@tcarroll010
sorry, they're all different, not the same. If they were the same, this problem would be easier.
You have a rational polynomial over another rational polynomial. For discontinuity, you look for where the function is not defined. In this case, it's where either of the denominator factors are zero. Hint: ther are 2 such values for your "x" that gives you discontinuity.
So for the denominator, the values of discontinuity are -9 and -7?
You got it! Good job!
Oh! Thank you so much! I guess I was overanalyzing this whole thing. Thank you for helping me to understand this. :D
Good luck to you in all of your studies and thx for the recognition! @tafkas77 And you're welcome!
You rock. Now I feel confident with this concept. :)
hey, @tafkas77 , before you go I have to say something. Will you stick around?
