OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you know about polar coordinates??????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You mainly want to remember: \[ x=r\cos\theta \\ y =r\sin\theta \\ r^2 = x^2 + y^2 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh really..can you please help me to my project ..it"s okey for you if i ask you what is the meaning of polar coordinates and

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay sure... The point of polar coordinates is to locate something. \(r\) tells you how far away it is and \(\theta\) tells you an angle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This contrasts from Cartesian (x and y) coordinates where x is the horizontal distance and y is the vertical distance.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sometimes it is much easier to describe things with an angle and magnitude than it is to split them up into horizontal/vertical components.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have any specific questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to graph the polar coordinates/?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because its too hard for me to graph the polar coordinates

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They aren't really easy to graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For something like \(r = 5\), you just graph a circle radius 5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please give me an equation to graph a rose or petals???and please graph it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=r+%3D+sin%282theta%29 \(r = \sin(2\theta)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how can you define the polar coordinates????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@wio already gave you some good examples and you still don't understand what polar coordinates are?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i know,,but it so difficult for me to draw the petals..??can you please draw for me...not a website..only... if okey for you..???
