Factor completely 2x^2+8x+6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To make it easier, factor out 2 2(x^2+4x+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got to there, but then I had gotten stuck as how to go after there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay then find the multiples of 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you multiply 1 and 3 you get 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But what does that have to do with this? Sorry about my confusion I was absent today in class.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you're trying to factor \[2(x^{2}+4x+3)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So now since you have the multiples of 3. 1 and 3. So now you can plug them in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2(x+1)(x+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see what you mean now! I have to find the factors of 3 but that also equal 4 when added, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I'm bad at explaining. -__-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No your not, I just haven't really been taught this yet.Once again, thank you.
