what answer did you get?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I got miles/foot^2
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
f(x) is the elevation in ft
x is the distance in miles
so you have change in ft over change in miles
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so then it is feet/miles
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
now you could argue that because 5280 ft = 1 mile, you can express f(x) in miles to get change in miles over change in miles...which would make the units cancel out

is the answer I choose before correct feet/miles
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
is there a "no units" option? because that's what I would go with
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no there isn't
OpenStudy (anonymous):
there is just miles option
OpenStudy (phi):
they are looking for ft/mile

well I guess ft/mile could work, but you could easily say "no units" as well
