You need to find the area of the garage.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Area = 720
OpenStudy (notamathgenius):
Ok now how much sand is needed to cover?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Two inches. So times 720 by two and you get 1440
OpenStudy (notamathgenius):
There ya go :D

Sam is building a new deck. His decking material is sold by the square foot. At a cost of $3.90 per square foot, how much will it cost Sam to build a deck that is 18 feet by 14 feet?
OpenStudy (notamathgenius):
Ok so you know what the cost, width, and height are so what do you need to do first?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
You have to find the area first so 18 times 14 =252

Ok now per sq. ft. You need to divide what by what?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I mean i multiplied 252 by 3.90 and got one of the answers on the quiz. Which is 982.8
OpenStudy (notamathgenius):
So if you are correct which you are you should get 983 (needs to be rounded you want more not less) sq.ft of wood
