-6x-10>14+2x add 6x to both sides: -10>14+8x subtract 14 from both sides: -24>8x divide by x on both sides: -3>x then you have to do the opposite: -6x-10<-(14+2x) = -6x-10<-14-2x add 6x to both sides: -10<-14+4x add 14 to both sides: 4<4x divide 4 to both sides: 1<x therefore your answer is x>-3 and x<1 or -3<x<1

also remember that if you divide by a negative number that is attached to x, then you have to change the sign. ex: -4x>4 would be x<-1
