your notation is slightly wrong I'll assume \[a_{1} = -4 ... and ....a_{n} = a_{n -1} + 7\] so you add 7 to the previous term -4, -4 + 7, (-4 + 7) + 7, (-4 + 7 + 7) + 7, .... just follow the pattern
