Simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got zero but i bet thats not even close

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@NatalieLove is it 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well on the top problem i get -36 divided by the bottom part 0 but im not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think im doing the top part incorrectly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the denominator is not zero \[2\times (-4)-|-2|^3=-8 -2^3=-8-8=-16\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@NatalieLove as we know Modulus of a number is always going to be positive -modulus(10-16) - 10 = -6-10 = -16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was wrong \[10-4^2=10-16=-6\] and so \[|10-4^2|=6\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

making the numerator \[-6-10=-16\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer would be 1 :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get \[\frac{-16}{-16}\] which is equal to 1
