laura i am stuck on a problem. f(x) = (3x -7) / 5x-6 ^1/2 using power and quotient rule. I am stuck can you help please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = (3x -7) / 5x -6 ^1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean what about it is getting you stuck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am trying to use the power and quotient rules to get an answer here. In the numerator I get 3 (5x -6)^1/2 - (3x - 7) x 1/2 (5x - 6) ^-1/2 x 5 but I do not think this is correct, Xavier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you using x to indicate multiplication as well?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am sorry, yes the x after the term (3x -7) indicates multiplication

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try not to do that. It's confusing If the x before the 5 also indicates multiplication then it's correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, thank you
