It is over Adapting to Indian Territory *this isnt a homework question btw i was doing some history today and i was interested* How did the tribes’ government, social structure, and economic practices change once they arrived in Indian Territory? Do you believe these changes had a lasting effect on the current structure of the tribe? If so, what changes do you believe have occurred? What has stayed the same?
Well the Cherokee were particulurly interesting with this. After the War of 1812 (second British-American war) the US began to expand. To save themselvs and hopefully be assimilated to the US, the Cherokee indians looked at America and began to adapt itself. They formed their own Cherokee constitution, they began to eat similar foods and farm in similar ways. They even came up with the concept already used by the Americans, private land. Eventually, their efforts of success failed with the US, but it's still cool to think about.
I think I'll choose when the Spaniards came to Mexico and the Southern Americas since there's no defined topic. 1. The Spaniards relatively destroyed the Aztec civilization. At first, the Spaniards were treated as gods with gifts and other bearings from the Aztecs. However this quickly changed when the Spaniards declared war. They had the advantage in battle before it even began. With stronger weapons, more supplies, and they even passed Small Pox to the Aztecs. The Aztecs lost the war, and declined in the 15th century. 2. Naturally. Relatively the Aztecs eventually declined when the Spaniards came to their land. The Spaniards really didn't care, they just wanted land and glory to bring back to Spain. 3.The changes to the culture were self explanatory. They're land was taken, they're culture and religion buried in time, and they all died. Only very few indirect descendants still live. 4. Really, the only thing that stayed the same was the fact that most of the cities were still intact. So the Spaniards didn't damage the Temples or land, meaning there was more than enough evidence to re-discover the Aztecs history.
