Okay, this might be a stupid question. But if a number has an exponent of 0... would it be zero? Or would it stay the same number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it becomes 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really? 1?? how? WHY DOES MATH DO THIS TO ME D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't ask, just obey haha. Maths is just often a very theoretical subject, stuff doesn't make sense in the real world but it makes perfect sense in the Maths one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it will equal to one . whenever there's a zero in an exponent for example: 5^0 it will equal to one. thats what @WTFork said since i got beaten to it lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean @sam1194 ? :) well, okay!! that really doesn't make sense at all, but thanks guys! I appreciate the help! I'd give you BOTH medals if I could. (Also, if anybody has an explanation for me as to why this is true, that would be awesome. Purely to satisfy my curiosity. :P)

@WTFork "(Also, if anybody has an explanation for me as to why this is true, that would be awesome. Purely to satisfy my curiosity. :P)" Because Maths :P
