systems help!
The two lines intersect at the point (-2, 1).
thanks for coming !
y=mx+b use that formula use it twice and make the y and x equal but vary the m and b -2=m_1*1+b_1 -2=m_2*1+b_2 that ought to work i think.
i dont understand!
make the y and x equal to (-2,1).
from a point there could be infinitely many lines can pass through
so it could be so just write y=mx+c and put y=1 and x=-2
so :1=m(-2)+b
?
it could be anything like y=x+3
oh okay
i need another equation!
You need another equation?
Or another explanation?
i need to label line and bi have line a which is y=x+3 now i need another equation!
need to label line a and b and i have line a already
let me scan the paper for you so it will help u okay
Wow, I was just about to ask you! :) Okay! :)
sorry cofee fell on it butll make sure ill show u just give me 2 minutes okay! :)
Sure! Take your time. :)
i think this is it!
the second questions says what is the quation of each line u drew in problem 5? explain how u wrote each equation!
Hmm, just a sec, Tahmina. I must go calm my dog down (she's scared of thunder lol). But I have reviewed your question. :)
okay but i need u so please hurry! i have to got to bed its kinda getting late and i have school and i need to get enough sleep! thanks!
:)
what happened? :(
u suddenly were typing then poof ur gone oh tafkas i really need ur help please!
yeah theres u go ur typing again :) yay! :)
Poor dog! :) Arrgh... Pick any two points that you made, then use this calculator: http://www.miniwebtool.com/slope-intercept-form-calculator/ It will also show you the steps.
sorry about that. :/
im bad at this i tried this kind athying! sorry about that!
The points on your line that I would use are (-2, 1) and (0,3)
ONce you plug in those values, it will create the equation that you need.
but i dont have another coordinates can u show me im confused and tired :(
here, I plugged it in for you: http://www.miniwebtool.com/slope-intercept-form-calculator/?x1=-2&y1=1&x2=0&y2=3
thansk! i need line b now
please!
Okay, line b must be parallel. do point slope form: y - y1 = m(x - x1) and plug in your values: y - (1) = 1(x - (-2)) y - 1 = x + 2 y = x +3 since your slope is one, you can have literally anything for your next line: y = x + 5 got it?
oh okay! i was gonna ask u that!
sam slope but difrent y itercep tno wits coming back to me ohhh
Great! So you think you got it, now?
yeah! thanks! for all ur help1
Awesome! You're welcome, Tahmina. You know I don't mind helping you. :) Oh, there's the dog again... :)
and the lightining?
Ha ha, it freaks her out. She's not a chihuahua, but she shakes like one when she hears thunder XD
can u help me with another problem!?
|dw:1362706517622:dw|
hello?
:)
Let's get rid of "y." The second equation can be simplified. Divide all those terms in the second equation by 4: 2x+3y=2 (24x+4y=12)/4 --> new equation: 6x + y = 3 NEW SYSTEM: 2x+3y=2 6x + y = 3 multiply second equation by -3 to get rid of the y terms. NEW SYSTEM: 2x+3y=2 -18x -3y = -9 ____________________________________ (add the equations) -16x = -7 x =....... Do you understand this?
so the answer is c?
thanks!
tgt bye ! have to pray ans take a shower see u next time!
Yes! :) See you next time! :D
