What is the y-value of cos(x) when x = -360°? Help?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

cos is x values remember...so at 306...180...0...-360 ...-180 the cos will = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the y value when x=0?

Parth (parthkohli):

\[\cos(0^{\circ}) = 1\]HINT: It repeats every 360 degrees.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

woops 360 the first number sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@johnweldon1993 cos(180) = 1 ???

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Noticed that @DarthTony lol...-1 sorry

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So at 0 degree cos = 1...at 360 cos = 1..at -360 cos will equal what? remember when its -...it just means it's travelling in the opposite direction....but it will come out the same in this example

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would come out as 1? ): Im so confused.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Yes it would come out to 1
