explain the change in the parent graph f(x), when f(x)= - √(x-5) +2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

everything in ( ) is under the square root sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The graph would be shifted to the right 5 and up 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since the x has 5 subtracted to it you move it to the right since it would be negative at and value less than 5 and it is shifted up 2 since the sqrt has 2 added to it so all y values are increased by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what would be my final answer ?

@sportymort

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

as he said "The graph would be shifted to the right 5 and up 2"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay Thanks Guys (:

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):
