"Thunder in the Ring" by Rusty James Slap, went the loser, on the mat. The crowd’s roar was outmatched, by the roar, of the man in the cage match. Like a gladiator of old he stood, the wrestler: big body, big mouth, big press machine, big shiny cape, teeny tiny outfit. Was this what you came to see, here in person? To figure out if it was real, to figure out if he was real, to figure out why. But you made it real. Your dollar fed the body, encouraged the mouth, fueled the press machine, added shininess to the cape, (wish it could make that outfit bigger) you made it real, when you voted with your dollars. The repetition in the poem works to describe the wrestler so the reader will understand him. focus the reader on those points and set up a rhythm. show the reader the peaceful mood of the poem. show what the crowd was yelling at the wrestler.
