Instead of dividing by -1/6 you can multiply with the inverse. The inverse of -1/6 is -6/1, or just -6. YOur equation becomes: x*(-6)=0. If the product of two numbers is 0, then at least one of them is 0. In this case that can only be x. Conclusion: x=0.
