i need help with this huge problem :(
to eliminate the fraction, you can multiply by 3 on both sides.
multiply 3 by what?
multiply both sides of the equation by 3
@Best_Mathematician that isn't exatly the answer i was looking for...
so 5 and 12?
my mistake here's the correction 5n + 12 + n = -3 6n = -15 n = -5/2
1.5?
do you have to simplify that?
n=1.5 or 3/2 is incorrect.
but theres no such thing as 1.5 here :(
do you want to solve it on your own, or just want an answer ?
yeahh thats what i was thinking, it cant be right :/
i need to know the steps so i can do it on my own you guys are just throwing answers or these problems of how you think it should be solved. its just confusing to me
i know, right! if you multiply each term of that equation by 3, what u get ? 3* (1/3)* (5n+12) =...? 3* (1/3)* n =...? -3*3 =.... ?
*last line should be -1*3=...?
-3?
thats right side, what about left side of = ?
umm 3*5?
15
sorry i am just terrible at math
3* (1/3)* (5n+12) =5n+12 3* (1/3)* n =n got this ?
