A microwave oven supplies 1.000 kJ per second. How many minutes should be set on the microwave in order to heat 250. g of water from 24.3°C to its boiling point? Incorrect Response 1) 2.54 minutes Correct Answer 2) 1.32 minutes 3) 79.2 minutes 4) 0.424 minutes
q=mCdeltaT once you find q, divide the amount of heat generated by the microwave per second.
how am i finding the deltat?
when i did that equation i came up with 459756..if i divided by 1.000kj my answer was 2.17 x10 to the -6
doesn't seem right
it says bring to the boiling point of your solvent, which is water, whats the boiling point of water?
99.98C
lol what, no it's 100 celsius
delta t = 75.68
okay so you multiplied everything, and got?
ugh!!! google said 99.98.....ok..i'll work the equation with 100C
99.98 is not gonna make a huge difference
i got 459877.5
units?
my heat...that was the answer for q=
459877.5 cats?
no..heat
heat is not a unit
i know..but the equation u gave me was for heat
Use Q=m.C.deltaT where C is 4.18 J/g.c and deltaT is 75.7(if the boiling point of water is 100 c)then divide the answer by 1000 J ....then divide it by 60 in order to find the time in minutes.
Is that helpful...?
it was..thank you
An atom of zinc has a mass of 65.39 amu. One of its isotopes, image038, has an 18.75% abundance. Since 1 amu = 1.6606 x 10-24 g, how many of atoms of this zinc isotope would be present in a 1.00 g sample of zinc? Question 25 options: 1) 9.209 x 1021 atoms 2) 4.911 x 1022 atoms 3) 1.727 x 1021 atoms 4) 4.762 x 1021 atoms
