Suppose a candle is burning, and wind is blowing on one side of the flame. Which principle explains why the flame bends toward the wind? Archimedes’ Bernoulli’s Newton’s Pascal’s

OpenStudy (kainui):

Bernoulli's principle basically says that the higher the speed, the lower the pressure becomes. Since there's a lower pressure where the wind is blowing, that causes the flame to be pushed in the direction of the blowing. You can test this yourself by getting a pingpong ball and blowing straight upwards. The ball will be continuously sucked back into the straight line, like this: |dw:1363219006682:dw|
