what is sinh function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

inverse sin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically a different way to say sin^-1, arcsin or any of those things.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, it's not the inverse sine function. It's actually the "hyperbolic sine" function. It's defined like so: \[\sinh(x)=\frac{e^x-e^{-x}}{2}\] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperbolic_function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you using a dreamCalc?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I don't think so... Not sure what that is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh, i have one from my school and it has that button on it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty sure the function is available on most graphing/scientific calculators. I'll check my TI84... Yep, it's there, but I had to go digging for it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, thats pretty much what mine looks like
