*fan and medal awarded EMERGENCY* What would most likely happen if capillaries had thick walls and large diameters? The blood cells flowing through them would form clots along their walls that block flow to tissue. The blood cells flowing through them would not be able to exchange gas with surrounding tissue. The blood cells would flow slowly through them, preventing them from carrying oxygen to tissue. The blood cells would flow quickly through them, allowing them to carry more oxygen to tissue.

OpenStudy (evonhowell):

What can you get rid of right away.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no idea on this one

OpenStudy (evonhowell):

Ok, it's not D or A it's B or C what one makes more sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i dont have any idea about this stuff. my guess would be B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The blood cells flowing through them would not be able to exchange gas with surrounding tissue. The walls are too thick for the oxygen to permeate through..

You can check this out for more details http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_the_structure_of_capillaries_have_to_do_with_the_function_of_the_capillaries

OpenStudy (evonhowell):

@damiancrr Why are you giving People the answer's That is strictly against the CoC! @mikaa_toxica13 Yes, your guess was correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u evon. can u help with some more ?

OpenStudy (evonhowell):

Maybe :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really? because anwers throughout here give direct answers o.o I posted a question of my own and was just killing time till someone answered it. I did however give a link so she can expand on the answer and learn more about it and why o.o

first time on this forum/site thingy

How would a dislodged piece of plaque in the cardiovascular system most likely affect an otherwise healthy person? The right pulmonary artery could become blocked, restricting blood flow to the right lung. A narrow region of the superior vena cava could become blocked, restricting blood flow to the heart. A smaller artery in a leg could become blocked, restricting blood flow to capillaries in the leg. A narrow vein in the brain could become blocked, restricting blood flow to capillaries in the brain.

OpenStudy (evonhowell):

I'm not Sure but I don't think it would be C or B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i thought it would be A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is some very light reading for your next question ;) key word arteries http://www.wisegeek.org/how-does-artery-plaque-build-up.htm http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081219225419AAmSOpG

@EvonHowell

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thick walls and large diameters it means that the capillaries have more space for blood to flow through them according to the large diameter part thick walls means the capillaries themselves are going to use up more oxygen and so less oxygen should arrive the tissues so think between B

A nurse rubs alcohol like ethanol and isopropanol on a patient's skin before administering an injection. What could be a medical consequence of neglecting to clean the skin before puncturing it with the needle? The nurse could contract a disease from the patient's skin. The patient could develop an infection at the injection site. The patient could have an allergic reaction to the needle. The injection site may bleed more profusely than if it was cleaned.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow how rude. what i get for being a nice person. I Studing medicine and work at a hospital and trying to help while following the CoC and not giving you answers. Oh well have fun with your test?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is anyone being rude here ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and actually, its a study guide im making.

OpenStudy (evonhowell):

You don't get anything for being nice if you DON'T follow our CoC sorry to say it that way but thats the way it is!
